Benefits of Soy and Beeswax Candles

February 13th, 2014 Dutchland Quilt Patch

Practically everyone loves burning candles at home; not only do they smell fantastic, but they also do wonders when it comes to setting a romantic ambiance on special occasions – like Valentine’s Day. As some of you may already know, one of our latest products, the new Milkhouse Creamery Candles is created using an expert blend of soy and beeswax. What you may not understand however is why these two particular types of wax are considered superior when compared to other types of candle wax.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of soy wax that people are drawn to is the fact that it helps the candles to burn for a longer period of time. Additionally, soy is renewable and biodegradable, which means that not only will it last you for a very long time, but you don’t have to worry about keeping it burning hour after hour, because it is natural and safe.

Beeswax is just as wonderful as soy – if not better when it comes to burning candles. Unlike paraffin wax candles, which actually release toxins into the air that you breathe, beeswax acts to purify the air by releasing negative ions when it burns. What does this mean? Well certain air pollutants, such as dust, dirt and pollen carry a positive charge, and when negative ions from beeswax are emitted into the air, they work to negate that positive charge, neutralize the ions and purify the air.

What’s even more, many studies claim that burning beeswax candles can help to reduce allergy, asthma and hay fever symptoms when the wax used is harvested by local bees. Care to test the theory? Give it a try by ordering one of our Milkhouse Creamery Candles today and reap the benefits of soy and beeswax blended candles!
